Thank you, Mark. How did you manage to re-install the shift motor cover?

  3. August N. (verified owner)

The crash bars fit perfectly. The bike went down in a wash and came up with only minor scratches to the crash bars.

Thanks for the feedback and ride safely.

The OM crash bars, combined with Barkbuster hand guards and B&B Safari bash plate, have done a wonderful job of protecting my CRF 1000 Africa Twin from damaging the plastics during drops in an offroad training class and while riding the big bike in an OHV terrain parks during practice. After several (low speed) drops, the bars are a little scuffed, but otherwise continue to hold up, and keep on protecting the bike.

That’s fantastic to hear, Mark! We’re pleased that your Africa Twin is still intact despite all the crashes.

I bought this crashbar over the competition because they were the only ones which showed the bike actually being dropped on them. That impressed me.

There were a couple steps of the install which were a tad difficult without an extra hand, mainly due to Outback’s insistence to attach to strong frame points (a super good thing). Some of these points are difficult to access with large hands, but possible with a bit of ingenuity.

The bars look great, and feel very beefy. Comparing hands-on to puig and sw-motech bars, these win by miles.

This crash bar provides the proper protection for my Africa Twin and does not detract from the look of the bike. Installed I can get to service areas without removing them. Great protection without looking like monkey bars in a play ground.
